    Default Camry Clutch, help.

Hi guys. Just after a bit of direction. 1990 3SFE Camry. Clutch pedal goes in, master has oil, slave actuates in and out freely, boots on slave look ok (no leaks) but clutch won't disengage.

    What's going on?

    Thanks

Assuming that you have confirmed that the slave is pushing enough to disengage the pressure plate a few things I can think of.

*Clutch plate is stuck on the gearbox input shaft splines (rust?, worn?)
*One of the clutch plate springs has fallen out of the clutch center (broken) and wedged its self between the clutch and the flywheel or the flywheel and the pressure plate).

    Cheers

    the pressure plate has collapsed!

had it happen on heapsof cars i have done, it happens on LS1 engines a fair bit. a few fingers (half a dozen maybe) on the pressure plate get stuck in a bit. When the thrust bearing goes to push on the fingers, it doesnt do it evenly and cant stop the drive going through the plate and then you always have drive and cant select gears.

fix: new clutch. teh pressure plate is no good. best to get a new clutch kit.
