    Default turbo upgrade for 1j

hey guys im sure this topic has probably been covered. I'm running a jzx90 1jz in my jzx81 mark 2. keen on a turbo upgrade from the twins but the catch is this i use the car as a track car mainly for drifting and i'm not wanting something that is huge and unusable under 5000rpm. It needs to be responsive as i'm not after huge power 250-270ish kw at the wheels.

    what u reckon trust tdo6 20g
    hks gt2835r
    kkk 27

im so unsure what to run anybody running a similar set up?

    its for this

Definately go a 3076r or 3037 with a 0.6 rear housing champ . Great turbo on a 1jz for Drifting and trackwork and crazy response . will make you 250-260rwkw , if you want more power, you will just need to go the 0.8 rear housing which will be responsive as well and make up to 290-300rwkw @ 22-25psi with the right mods .

    Nice car.

I can vouch for the 3076, even with 0.82 exhaust housing it is very responsive, plenty of torque from 3500rpm, and just pulls harder from there.

2835R will be best choice from what you have listed.

you could always get steel wheeled stock turbos and twin dumps, you'll make the power you want with very little lag.

GCG do them and they are quite expensive from memory.

I would go a 3076 for good response and power on a 1JZ

oh sorry, i thought you were trying to slight me.

im not sure, i think there was a dude importing them from china, the quality was questionable tho. i meant getting them rebuilt with steel wheels. probably abit expensive, but i guess it would be comparable to buying a new turbo and manifold tho.
