Default Clutch master sleeve kit vs new master

So i thought my RT142 was leaking rain onto the drivers floor under the clutch pedal, turns out its leaking clutch fluid which explains where the fluid is going out of the resevoir.

Now this car was cheap, i love it but i dont want to spend money on it but im going to run out of free brake fluid soon.

Am i better off re-sleeving/recoing the original master or just buying a new one? where will i get the best cheapest rebuild kit or new master?

I would be saying just buy a new one. But I'm not sure of the price difference. I think stainless sleeves would last longer in the long run... Either way, speak to these guys -

They're very helpful, easy to deal with and if you walk in wearing some overalls you'll most likely get trade pricing.

if the bore isn't damaged, it could just be the cups gettin old. worth checking out as a seal kit is a bit cheaper than a rebore/new one...

Surely it will be much easier and maybe cheaper to get a new one.
    Not exactly a rare car

nah its not like its rare at all, but if a rebuilt is easy and $2 and a new master is easy and $50 then i'd rather be up one slab. i could just try to convert it to a mechanical linkage, that wouldn't leak.

I see it as time=money, in the time it takes to rebuild it you could make $50

yeah but in my case that time would just be spent watching an episode of the thunderbirds or scouring forums at the moment. my preference is for a new unit though.

Second hand is probably goes to give you issues, not worth considering for a 45 dollar part. I have some clutch issues at the moment myself.
Getting your missus to help bleed the brakes isn't everybody's idea of quality time.
