Default 1uz radiator outlet directions... Whch way around?

I have my radiator connected to my 1uz in what I think is the reverse to what most people have.

I have the return - the one with the thermostat - going to the top of the radiator and the other one going to the bottom.

Is this a problem??? Does it make any difference to cooling capacity?

Yup, you have them the wrong way around and yes not optimum for cooling as you have reversed the flow thru the rad...it'll still work but others have found they don't seem to work as effectively.

On a 1UZ, the connection with the thermostat is the inlet (engine water inlet, not radiator inlet) I take it?

It is on the 3S-GTE, and it sits on the lower side of the engine, but on most other engines (18R-G for eg) the thermostat is on the outlet (engine water outlet, not radiator outlet) and goes to the radiator inlet.

Depending on how the 1UZ pumps the water around the engine, the way you have it may be the correct way.

I'm quite tired, so what I have typed may make no sense at all.

Damn, started typing my reply before there were any posts, but I forgot to hit the post button and noticed it and didn't bother to refresh the thread first...

    Default Whch way around?

Whichever hose is on the bottom of the rad., goes to the waterpump, they don't pump well at all trying to suck air&water from the top.
