I thought Toga stopped making oil pumps for the 4AGE?
Are the stock pump gears made of powdered metal? These guys claim steel & closer tolerance's, no size increase, so if you gotta shim and increase the chance of breakage, this'll help.

'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!

Hot or cold, the oil pressure relief valve is always set at the same psi.
Just when oil is hot, that it gets thin enough that most engines wont make enough psi to open it.
The relief valve is there to stop over pressure when cold.
Like the early mitsi's that split the oil filter off with too much pressure when revved cold.
A guy from NZ tried to organise a buy for them about a year ago?
and found no stock and they had stopped making them,
so you may find that thye are on the list but not available.

Thanks for the information.
Ok, looks like there isn't really much to do. I will pull it apart and inspect it, and either get a new one or reuse the old.
You think they would have caught that in testing.Like the early mitsi's that split the oil filter off with too much pressure when revved cold.
