    Question TA22 Weather seals

    Hi ppl,

Just wanted to know if anyone has replaced their TA22 weather seals with aftermarket products from places like ebay or rare-spares?

I have been looking into it for a while now and just dont know if the ebay stuff will be low quality and not fit quite right or if it's all good? The rare-spares kit is around $900 and I dont know if it's just a rip off or if it's the best option?

    Thanks,

    Nick.

Thumbs up Re: TA22 Weather seals

designuu from ebay has quality items at fair prices

If you bulk buy everything at once he does a fair deal on postage costs

designuu is one of the thai sellers that the guys on rollaclub don't like much... rubbers split in our aussie sun very quickly I am led to believe

toyheadauto.com still sells almost everything you would want as a genuine part. if you have the time to wait for it to come from the usa, i would strongly urge you to order through him.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was a bit worried about the ebay stuff cracking to be honest...

I'll see what toyheadauto.com has to say, hopefully they have stock...

theres a place called spectrum rubber here in sydney they do an awesome job i got all the rubbers for my rx7 off them and they worked beautifully, they custom make everything so if they havnt got it in stock they custom make them as the original and price wise they are pretty good

I replaced the boot seal, rear and front windscreen seals with ones I got from rare spares and they have been fine. Steve from Acrosstown Windscreens (shameless plug for a fellow CCG member) here in Canberra put them in with the new glass and he was impressed with the quality of them.

    Cheers

Sound good! The rarespares kit comes with alot of parts too... for the price ($1000) its not half bad considering some of the ebay sellers want $130 for shipping!

Scott's Old Auto Rubber is a good supplier in Victoria. Similar stuff to spectrum and rare spares.

I still prefer the genuine gear from toyheadauto

I used a place out at St Marys years ago when fixing up a mint 22, cant remember if it was spectrum or old auto rubber, but for the price they were good enough with only minor mods needed,at the end of the day do you just want it to seal up or be like factory fitment, both are very different in costs
