Animated avatars basically detract from the content of the page. Before long we'll end up with a forum full of distracting stuff all over the place when the aim is to keep Toymods as a wookie free technical resource.

Although they're sometimes VERY amusing, IMO they are almost as distracting as those graphical signatures that you see plastered all over a lot of American based forums. You spend half your time looking at the wrong stuff!!
    Cheers,
    Paul.

Yup. They draw the attention away from the text, which is the real content of the forums.

    Hi,

There are still a few large and/or colourful sigs in these forums that I'm sure narks Nark.

For sure, I can see two in this thread alone. One of which is also too big.

As a mod, I don't have that option. I need to be able to see any offensive sigs.

Wouldn't it be better to have a garbage free forum in the first place?

    Garbage free FTW

I dont mind signatures, and they are generally good for showing what cars people own/playing with, but when they go overboard they shit me

I'd like to be able to enforce the use of a smaller font for all sigs. That'd be nice. It would make it a lot easier to quickly differentiate between the posts and the sigs.

Another thing that bugs me a bit is the non car-related avatars. I'd like to get rid of those. It'll be a shame to lose all the pretty girls, but this is a technical car modifying forum.

    Hi,

    But, my avatar is beautiful!

I'll see what I can do with a smaller font on my sig - just for you Nark.

Sorry Maxxy.. every time I've changed my avatar in the past people pm me asking where the old one was, and that it defines my posts!
