looks to me like you are showing us a picture of a 2JZGTE and asking about a plug for a 2JZGE
Hey guys,
I'm currently in the process of converting my JZA80 aerotop supra 2jzge to a 1jzgte vtti from a 97 soarer.
Its going well so far, have the 2jz out and the 1jz ready to go in, just sorting out some wiring 1st.
I have several diagrams but nothing on this plug.
Given that the diagram has two plugs leading to one i assume this is model differences or something.
Anyway does anyone have any detail about the wiring of the CA3 plug?
Cheers Mike

hey mate,
thanks for the reply. I zoomed in to show it clearer, but the 1st pic is from this. 1jzgte from a soarer.
Cheers Mike
Actually, he's showing you a picture of a VVTi 1JZ in a Soarer...like his description says.
Someone on the forums will be able to provide the pinouts for the Supra plug, you may have to reverse engineer the Soarer one though. At a casual glance, it looks the same as my UZZ30 one, but I need to check the pinouts for that yet.

thanks mate.
I have the supra ones sorted out, but i just wanted to check the soarer one. At worst I can use a multimeter and trace the wires on the motor but i was hoping for a wiring diagram to help.
Cheers Mike
you sure that is a VVTI picture you have there?
Jealousy is a curse
its not a vvti pic but that plug matches. see how it has CA1 and CA3 running to the same plug, im assuming the CA1 is for a non vvti and the CA3 is for a vvti. Thats my theory anyways![]()
probably wires for starter and alternator what colours are they?
Jealousy is a curse
yeh i think you're right,
I dont have the details with me, im at work... but from memory there is a black/red and another red?? im ok with those but the ones that catch me out are the two on the bottom... there are two blue/black wires, both the same colour and thickness wire.. i read somewhere that it goes from pin 3, loops around and goes to pin 5... doesnt seem to make sense to me, hence the need for a diagram.
check to see if they go to starter and alternator maybe aircon as well black/red may be 12v for injectors etc , the L pin on the alternator may be connected back through the engine ecu if the Soarer had mpx
Jealousy is a curse
ok, i've had a closer look at some diargams and done some testing..
Pin 1 and 2 are fine, i have them sorted.
Pin 4 is blank
Pin 3 loops down and comes back up into Pin 5.
So its used as break in a wire. I found a diagram which shows it, translated the japanese and the colours are right, so i know im on the right track.
My question now is... the two CA3 boxes above the circle are pins 3 and 5 on the plug, the form a link from the battery to the motor "A", the motor is then earthed seperately.
What is this motor, it cant be anything attached to the engine itself becuase the wires dont go down the lume, the plug is simply to connect power to the motor.
My best guess is the fuel pump, but would like some more educated guesses if anyone knows.
Cheers Mike

100% NOT Fuel Pump
Without looking it up I'd hazard a guess at AC fans...

awesome mate,
love your confidence.
cheers Mike
Yep, easy to be sure on that one, Soarer's run a fuel pump ECU
