On a 16v head you need a deep 10mm double hex socket
I've got a spare 4AG 20V lying around that I am pulling down to rebuild. I gt to the bit where I pull the head off and struck a problem. The head bolts seem to require a 12 point Allen key - which I don't have. I was wondering if anyone had the specs/size of the socket required to take the head bolts out? I've trawled the new and old forums but have had no success...
Also, does anyone know if ARP do a Head Stud kit for the 20V - I have heard you can use the 10 of the long studs from a 16V it, but that doubles the cost....
Thanks in Advance.

20vs are diferent to 16v, go to your local tool shop and they shoud be able to sell you the right socket, think mine was $10 from total tools brookvale.
Yeah 20V is different to 16V. What I'm after is what size it is, I don't want to have to go back and forth from a tool shop to work out what it is....Originally Posted by cri_ag
And obviously I can't take the bolt there and say "I want that one" Little Britan Style.

hey psycho lol. Sounds funny
Is it deff a 12 point hole in the head of the hole??????? if it is i have your fix!!
Im betting it a 10mm 12 point allen ( torx ) bit you need.
What you do is get a bolt with a 10mm 6 point head turn it upside down and see if the head of the bolt fits snug into your 4a head bolt ( follow me ) this will give you an indication of size then you can go buy correct size allen bit!!![]()

the size is def. 10mm, i've just taken off a 20v head, with your average 10mm allen key (6 point) and the bar from an engine hoist used as lever. they are def multi point but only worked that out after cleaning the gunk away when head was off.
they are not a torx bit.... torx will round them off
theres a good post on toyspeed (which is down today) about it
