Hi guys. I'm getting close to doing this engine swap now (the engine, loom and computer arrives soon). Is anybody able to help out with my question?
Hi guys. I have a 1993 Paseo. I am currently replacing the 5E FE with a 5E FHE out of a Toyota Cynos. I have got the engine, manifolds, loom and computer all coming. As the Cynos is a Japanese Paseo I am asuming that where the dash board loom joins with the engine loom and plugs in to the computer is the same. Is anybody able to confirm this for me? If this isn't the case, is anybody able to tell me where I can get whiring diagrams for both the Paseo and Cynos (in english) so I can re-wire it.
Also on a different note, I am removing the power steering as the car will be used for track days. I have read that the Paseo is on the same platform as the Starlet and Trecel which have models that use manual steering. Does anybody know if you can swap the manual steering out of a Starlet/Trecel into a Paseo? If so, which model inparticular, and where can I source one from?
Thank for your help.

mate as far as im aware, try pitstopbookshop.com.au to maybe source a workshop manual for your car, otherwise you might be the first one here to come across the differences in the two cars.
as for the steering rack issue, sourcing a car of the same year will be of great advantage for a start, then making sure it mounts in the same position as the steering column and mounting positions on the firewall (from memory they bolt to the firewall i think)
any differences in overall length could be fixed with modified or different tie rod ends, as far as measurements go i think thatll be a tricky one
Cheers! I'll give that a go.
