I remember reading a huge thread about this on soarercentral or planet soarer a long long time ago! The guy did the same thing, changed his wheels without turning the Suspension ECU off in the boot causing it to crap its pants.

Under certain (but unknown) circumstances this happens when the car is jacked up with the Sus. ECU turned on. Apparently the ECU stays on for a few minutes after turning the power off too, if you turn the key to ON with one or more wheels off the ground the Sus. ECU gets confused. Resetting the power didn't help cos the bag was still inflated, thus it sets super high as its default position or something....

IIRC they found the way to fix it, they had to bridge some connections at the solenoid to deflate the bag then reset the ECU while standing on one leg and patting their heads at the same time... such is the black magic inside UZZ31 electronics.

Search on soarercentral, the info is definitely on there.

thats wat i thought, coz i remember reading that on there (soarercentral) just recently, you have to bridge the 1/6 pin on the air suspension diagnostics port in the boot (underneath the switch, behind the trim, black connecter with 10pins or so!

look up 'vent solenoid soarer' in google and look through a few of the links, forgot which one it is but it has pics and such, i have the info at home on my other pc, so if u need more info pm me!

ot, where you getting this aftermarket controller from, i want one too.

    cheers wog

The airbag was fine, we took teh sensor rod off, started the car and moved the rod around, maybe a bit of dirt or shit was in the sensor stopping it from reading the height because as soon as we did that the bag started working again

Measured the length of the rods on my car and Jezza went home and adjusted his to teh same length and its all good

Jezza: got your txt, i do have a spare EMV that works, not sure how well though. i need to work out how to test it out of the car to see as its a PITA to remove them from the car

i can help with the bench testing, have made my own bench tester...my emv systems back light inverter didnt work, after about 2 weeks now, i have given up on the inverter, just bought a supposedly good emv unit, but touch screen doesnt work, so will have to transplant my ts elecs into it, if your having problems with yours aswell, i may be able to help out!!

hmmmm, maybe its been sent off and been repaired properly......there was a guy who passed away a while ago who did all the repairs for EMV systems for the soarer owners in Australia, now you can send them in to this company who rape hard, but at the end of the day, it needs to be fixed to retain the awesomeness, theres a few guys in the UK who have designed and made their own LED backlight system, quite expensive, but looks the goods and is brighter than the factory piece(which is around 7500-8000k)

or on the opposite side of the spectrum, it could of been dodged up, are the transistors mounted on the outside of the case, if they are its been done properly, if they are stuck on the inside it was probably done on the dodge!

but as said, am happy to test it out for you!

    cool cheers phil!
im thinking bout dumping my car a little harder too haha, im on exactly 16cm rod distance atm.. but would probably got about half a cm lower

wogging, my emv works (touch screen etc) but the display doesnt work (turns on at first, is all shaky etc. then turns on, but i can still press stuff on the screen)
if i turn the screen off, and then press a "hard" button the screen turns on, is shaky again and turns off
sometimes it stays on and it great
also seem to have dead pixels on my screen but that doesnt bother me
    is this an easy fix?

There's a guy on soarercentral.com who repairs EMV's - did a good job with mine. Look up Damian Ware and he'll be able to let you know if it's an easy fix or not.

Mark Paddick has passed away. Contact Damian Ware, Glen Waverly Victoria for service.

it seems mr.Paddick was replaced....Jezza, yes its an easy fix, that problem, along with no touch screen is what mine had, then i decided to not read the info i had in front of me and i made another problem, i broke the backlight inverter system, havent been able to fix it, so i bought another busted EMV which the inverter works, so ill just transplant that....moral= read the bloody document before jumping to conclusion an think before just ripping out all the transistors wit a soldering iron......but to fix the screen fading out is just a simple capacitor, i replaced it on mine with something of much lower value (45uf as opposed to a 82uf, only because i didnt have any 82uf on hand) and it worked ok, but now i have the proper value ones, i can probably do it for you, but it is quite tricky......but i did fix mine......but broke something else......but have another coming.....which illl probably break too......then ill just give up.....and burn the car........ummmmmm yea...
