    Default 2jzgte - twin fuel pumps 044

Its probably been asked before but why do i read a lot of mods where people have used two bosch 044 fuel pumps, why do you need 2? Does a 2J really need that much fuel pressure? Or is it a volume thing? So when this is done is it two fuel pumps in series with the fuel line? Like one pushing into the other? or is it twin lines from the fuel tank, then into twin pumps forcing the fuel into say a Y or T piece then on to a large single line? Im new to 2js and not real familiar with the common mods.
I used to have RB30 turbos, I used to just have a intank pump then a external VL turbo pump, and that kept fuel duties sweet up to 18PSI no worries.
Somebody shed some light on this?

    what's your power goal?

There are generally 2 reasons for going twin fuel pumps.

    1) massive flow requirement - generally over ~400rwkw you'll need a second pump.
    2) redundancy. if one fails, you won't have a massive lean out + engine failure.

It's nothing to do with fuel pressure - 044s don't actually push huge fuel pressure very well. I'm at ~350rwkw, and only on one 044.

Well to start with, my aristo half cut is going in a falcon. I'm leaving it stock to begin with, and being a carby XE falcon I will be tossing the tank in favour of a fuel cell, I still have a good VL turbo fuel pump so i was hoping to use that to start with, then just need to pick a pump for the intank duties. Please note the XE is a track only car, never to be registered.
Any suggestions for in fuel cell pump???
