This is indeed an interesting thought i'll look into this too, what car are you using this setup on and what calipers do you use?
Mod plate bloke doesn't like discs being drilled out, but if i can make it work i can probably pull some strings and get myself some blank and have them done at a machine shop.

Its being done on my -73 Corolla right now. Calipers are Volvo 850, onepiston, they work well in 225hp Volvos, 50% heavier than my rolla. Its also smaller than a 4/6-piston caliper. 300mm discs demands wheels in size 16, but I hope I can use 15s. KE20 is 12 std...

About drilling; Whats important is centering, and it should not be centered by the bolts. In fact, the holes in std discs are always a little bit too wide. The holes for the wheel bolts is not really used to lock the disc, locking is done in the original way. But its always a good idea to do it as correct as it might bee done.

I will remove the drums and use the same disc at rear btw, with Ford Scorpio/Mondeo Wagoon calipers (they have vented rear discs and the hand brake in the caliper). At rear, the centering is done with the inner dia of the disc (64mm).

having a better look at this tells me its no good, firstly its based on corolla struts (RT 40 doesnt have struts) secondly id rather it be able to fit under a set of period correct wheels (14 pref or 15s if i must) which i know the conversion i have in mind will do.

thanks for the idea but i think ill stick with the RT104 setup and if thats not enough go to a hilux/peugot setup.

Right, I was wrong... Checked and its a totally different size on the back of the hub in the RT104.
But actually, the RT:s is interesting cars!
Is it possible to use bigger discs than 266mm in 14s in the RT?

theoretically you could fit any size of brake (and therefore larger wheels) on to the car.
the combo im looking at using from memory the disc is 269mm. i run it under 15s but have seen 14s on this setup too. (anyone got some MA61 wheels for sale )

however i want something that fits under a 14" wheel and appears stock, the peugot disc/hilux caliper combo all bolts up and looks fairly standard. The less you have to attack stuff the easier it is to get approved for road use (mod plating) here. Also the police here are rather draconian and pick on stuff that looks modded. i have never had questions about my braking setup (same setup) on my KE70 and i havent even gotten around to getting it mod plated yet.

also just quietly this isnt exactly my car i purchased it and i pay for the mods on it but this is in fact my partners toy. The less stuff i've done to the car that cops her flack when pulled over by the plod the better methinks.

If your caliper bolt spacing is 90mm then they will bolt up.I am 100% positive that the RT 81 spindle was the same on the 1600S RT 40.Ball joints are different, front springs from a 104 will fit and tie rods for memory were the same. Its been about 20 or so years since I had RT 40's and 104's.But your best bet is 104 calipers and a post master cyl booster. If you can find a MS55 Crown some of those had the post master booster. If not I myself still have the genuine 1600S booster.
    Cheers Brett.
