hey, was running perfect..AGAIN! than i turned it off, realised there was a huge pool of oil, re thread taped the oil pressure sender, (as i thought this was the cause as the pool was were i had worked on it last, than put everything back together and started it, it idles and starts but sounds liek a wrx, i inspected cap and rotor, and all are ok...=(
based on experience from a mate's honda civic, WRX sound = blown head gasket.
to check it its running on 3 pull the plug leads one at a time.
yeah thats what i thought..but was running fine when i turned it off why would it die instantyl on start up?? pulled no.1 off and the idle went rougher..try with all 3 left?
mmk all good now, not sure what it was, but did the lead test and now all good, theres smoke coming from the exhaust join near the centre of the turbo, i know the turbo is fair dead but didnt know smoke would come from it?
Motor also sounds pretty different with the AFM unplugged - maybe a loose connection there or something?
nah AFM plug all good, stalls with it off =p but the smoking from the inner of the turbo?? i just noticed that only under boost its letting loose lots of smoke, i dont reckon it degraded heaps quickly i.e over night, but i changed the oil to magnatec, lower viscosity, i reckon the turbo is showing its true dead colours
