Clown, pick up Ryley and bring the cressie (assuming it running alright) and pick me up on the way thru. we can split the petrol between us.

or come to bacchus and we can take the crown along. only problem for me is i'm unable to drive due to my own stupidity on the weekend, did some major damage to my thumb, had surgery on monday. so someone will have to drive the whale.

    tis very laugh worthy.....

cleaning the chain on the push bike, spinning it around while holding a towel on it to remove the crud, it gripped while i was holding it. thumb went between the rear cog (single speed bike) and the chain. got sliced between the last knuckle, chipped some bone off the middle bone, cut the tendon (not sure if it went thru it completely), i'll find that out tomorrow at the outpatient meeting at 3pm.

i did it at 5:45 sunday evening, got it cleaned and referred at bacchus by 7pm, went to sunshine for second opinion (got seen at midnight) said nothing major had been damaged, artery or nerves, so got booked for surgery at 4pm monday, slept at home sunday night / monday morning. back at sunshine for noon monday, had the surgery (took the soft option and was put to sleep so i didn't feel them playing or repairing the tendon) and was back home by 8pm after a quick stop at HJ's for a whopper and onion rings (hadn't eaten since 7am).

in a half cast for 4-6 weeks, can't do v mcuh except watch movies and play my DS left handed with the stylus. no driving for a while either, even tho the whale is an auto, it'll be too hard trying to turn the huge thing

i'll be at the monthly meeting to be made fun of.

wasn't overly painful.......i think my brain shut out most of it. i could feel it throbbing. and it hurt when the doc moved the tip up and down. but outside of those times, and even now, it doesn't hurt or give me pain. my brain knows that it's injured and where the cuts are (they needed to slice lengthways towards my hand to get better access to the tendon) but i don't know what it currently looks like, i've only seen the initial damage, not the aftermath. i'll let you know how i feel tomorrow arvo once i get a good look at it

    Hope all is well mate.

My worst experience so far was putting a Motorbike exhaust spring through one side of my finger and it came out the other.

I was stupidly trying to cut the spring, that part was ok. The part that I failed at was trying to bend out a new hook with a screwdriver. The screwdriver slipped and the sharp bit of the spring went straight through my index finger and out the other side.

The bad part was the spring was still stuck in the vice, and I had to pull the spring out of my finger.

back from the docs. had a quick chat about pills before checking out my thumb.

havent taken any pain meds for 36 hrs, didnt really need them to begin with. were only panamax anyway, nothing major.

thumb looks good, a dozen or so stitches, less than i thought. they didnt slice up my thumb very much to repair the tendon, appears i did enough of that as it is nail is bruising up, but thatys expected given whats it been thru the last 5 days...

have been told to do nothing with my right hand for a month minimum......but at least i can go back to work! FML

my doc is filling me up with some wicked pain pills for my back atm..... we seem to have settled on a combination of tramal, valium and strong anti-inflamatories and they do QUITE NICELY apart from being a little in lala land most of the time (doesnt bother me at all!)

Just a follow up on the Cruise. Only 2 more days

I'll be there nice and early in a morning in my ST184 Red Celica.

I'm just finalising the best route. Can someone recommend the best path through to healesville?

Can everyone bring something small? I'll bring some drinks and snags and utilities
