Surely with the photo they can look it up in the EPC? Call James at Castle Hill Toyota and tell him you want to email a pic. He's very helpful. If I had to guess I'd say Input Shaft cover?

    Hey man,

JZA80 never came with R154's only the MA70/JZA70 turboes did. (and some other non supra cars).

bought it as is, from a man named "shifty". it came from japan and it was on a crate so i can only imagine a dodgy forklift driver hit it some how.

ok thanks guys. Will ring castle hill toyota. On another note i just got a chance to dummy fit my motor tonight and the shifter goes past the original shifter hole, can anyone tell me if you can convert a remote type shifter R154 to the non remote shifter type? would i need to change the rear housing? or just the top part?

You should be able to have that welded back in if its too expensive.

Yeah, you can convert them, but I don't think its as easy as unbolting and rebolting.
Depends what car yours came from, all the remote shifters have different bolt patterns where it bolt to the box (rear housing).

    jzx90 i think

i was thinking that too but if i welded the collar back on then the welds might not allow the throwout carrier to sit as far back as it originally did, and if i grind back the welds it would not be as strong as it originally was. Or do i worry too much?
