shouldnt have too much of a problem if your upgrading systems of the fuel side of things for example the fuel rail or fuel pump...
Hi all, how important is the fuel pressure pulse damper that lives on the fuel rail?
Will I have any major adverse effects by removing it? It is getting in the way of my plenum.
Thanks
Joel

there's a couple of toyota's with the dampener built into the end of the banjo bolt for the fuel filter. May be an option for retaining it.
i couldnt see it having a dramatic effort removing it completely as most nissans dont have them when they have upgraded fuel components.. its just there to compensate the waves of fuel into the fuel rail as the injectors take them out..
if you have an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator and can slight bump up the fuel pressure on idle and when its underload to the point where the fuel rail has more fuel than it needs after the injectors have finished taking the fuel then you shouldnt notice a difference
Whilst I have driven it very little, I removed the dampener from my 4AGE fuel rail. I didn't notice a difference, and it has since been tuned sans dampener without issue.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
this. too easy.
can make a bit of difference but how much is hard to say.
as you know, when you squirt a bit of fuel, the pressure drops rapidly since fuel isn't compressible, but since the fuel is recirculating, the pressure variations may not be enough to cause issues, but still better to have.
also reduces noise etc.... supposedly

have you thought of moving the damper to the top of the filter before the rail?
OR use it to attach the fuel line to the rail?
I was having an interference problem with the TPS and the damper... I then rotated the TPS so the connections were opposite and there was no longer any interference
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
I have no hope of getting it on the rails where it originally was mounted on a banjo sorta setup.
I could look at putting it on a fuel filter. But would need one without tailend/barb fittings and a threaded fitting instead..
Or can you get aftermarket damper's that go onto tail end barbs?
too hard to fit? put it in the bin imho
if it were easy to fit id have no excuse to offer to bin it, but if its an effort, id ditch it without thinking twice![]()
