i knw all of u r gona laugh @ this idea, but it is stil only an idea. I plan on building Australia's toughest Celica and was wonderin if there were any1 1JZ's currently in Australia tht hav an output of 500+ rwkw? Ive read a write up on an old skool Soarer with 600+ kw's in Japan........

If you put a big enough turbo and supporting gear sure you can make 500+rwkw. Problem is do you want drivability with that power figure?

if you are going for australia's toughest, why would you think to start with a 1j?

Search HYPO77. Your power figures are optimistic. 480rwhp = 10.4@133mph. 800rwhp = 8 second passes with a good launch (key point) or 12's@150mph if you have a supra

Toughest in Aus and working to a cheap budget is unlikely to be successful as the level of toughness has already been set quite high.

Don't listen to the naysayers like Rona that try to tell you a 500rwkw daily is not realistic they are just jealous. Jeez, why not have 500rwkw for the wet on a low boost setting and 1000rwkw for the dry on the high setting - that's what I'd do if I were you

All this in a 75 Celica? Good luck fitting the sucker, and another question, have you ever been in a little car with even 200rwkw? as instead of looking at figures go for a ride in a car with that sort of power and you will soon see its not all about having the most kw at the treads....I can pretty much guarantee that an old celica with 200rwkw is going to runa the same time as one with 500rwkw unless you start putting big bucks into drive train etc...

anyhoo good luck with the build

my daily has 170rwkw+ its 1340kg, i think realistically i probably wouldn't want anymore than probably 225 rwkw for daily duties... maybe with a 'high' boost setting for when i really need erm.. 'extra towing torque' ?

its got plenty enough powah now it has sticky tires it can at least get full throttle at some point of first gear...

You'll probably need at least 440's to hit 300rwkw. Thats what I'm rolling with atm. Tho I cant tell you power/duty cycle at the moment because the car is at the tuners with a problem in the ECU. For some reason the PFC wont read engine load. Its stick on one 'row' of mapping. Hoping they can fix her up today other wise I'm gonna get it back and see if I can sought it.

If anyone has any ideas fire away!

Stock injectors are good for about 260rwkw at the most, but this is with quite a high duty cycle.

Definately won't get 300rwkw on stock injectors!

Riceburna- I actually own a '76 TA23 so i know there plenty of room for a 1JZ ( plenty as in it'll just fit in with no fire wall reconstruction). I know 500kw is a hell of alot for a early Celica, but yes, i do plan on having a strengthened drive train an some rather large pieces of rubber holding me to the road.

7M- y would u assume i go to school?? just because i want a high powered car that is still road driveable, u assume im some little high school kid?? well mate, sorry to burst your bubble there, but i haven't been to high school in quite a few years........
