Ok I'm looking to do almost this my aim is 300-350kw on a stock 1JZ lump, big'ish single turbo for my D1 Drift spec GZ20 over here in the UK.

Some very useful info here boys, my main concern is having streetable car ie one thats not laggy as hell, I'd like mucho torque around the mid 3k rpms & a nice quick throttle response.

I've also gleaned some info from the Vertex Soarer D1 car thats currently residing over here & it runs a relatively small GT30r or slight variation of. Its a turbo rated at 386kw tops but is relatively small too so its sounding ideal for the application. The full specs of it are:

So if any of you have your specs for comparisons that'd be great

Also over here we now have this E85 bioethanol fuel stuff thats rather interesting stuff, like race fuel but cheaper than regular 95 octane, but is 103'ish RON. I'll probably be running my car on this stuff if all goes to plan. It has some monstrous advantages over stock fuel with massive cooling effects, though you need lots of it!

Jampac on here is using one on his jzz30 soarer and reports 5psi by 2900rpm before wheelspin occurs. He was also supposed to be racing it last night. AFAIK it has made 270rwkw@17psi or so. He will correct me if I am wrong.

Was 270kw@19psi, but gearbox was slipping so power is really not known exactly. I ran a 12.446 last night at 113.17MPH. 1.898 60ft. I launched off the line for that run at about 3300rpm, and was making bulk torque at this mark. However gearbox is slipping as my MPH was moving around a bit as I pulled the line pressure cable on and off. For example I did a run of 12.460 @ 109.92 with a 1.939 60' with the cable on, but the 12.446 run was with the line off.

The exact spec of my turbo is CHRA:700177-0011. Look that number up and you'll get all the info on it.

RB20's are gay...no tourque down low and relatively weak when youre pushing anything over 19psi through them...the one in my laurel is a ticking time bomb at 21psi...

1JZ > RB25
2JZ > RB26

and the JZ's are both cheaper than the nissan counterparts

i never said they dont make power, dump a bunch of cash into anything and it'll make bulk horsies.

like Mr 1JZ said, the rb25 is compared to the 1J (and 1J eats it) and the 26 is compared to the 2J (and 2J eats it)

Wow, reading through an old thread like this makes me understand why people dislike eldaro so much, way to spout a whole bunch of innacurate crap dude! And it seems very little has changed too.

There's plenty of turbos that would suit the 1J without making it a lag pig and push 300rwkW. And the 1J makes the same power and more torque than the early RB26 and not much less than the later ones while being less laggy & a crapload more durable to boot.
2J compared to the RB26 is like apples & oranges, one is a highly strung almost 'race' engine, ready to pop when the pressure's applied, and the other is a fairly basic & mega strong fat torque monstor.
1J vs. RB26, now that's a fair comparison.
