Default FPR turbo 1uz - what to get?

I didn't realise FPR's were so damn expensive!!!

What should I get for the 1uz?

I've read that some FPR's that have a ratio of 1:1 aren't OK for turbo engines, you need more of a 1.7:1 or 2.1:1, but I don't really understand this.

What have people used? Thinking Justin might be a good example here. :-)

Malpassi Rising Rate FPR would be my recommendation.

What's with the fuel questions of late?

Ditching your Gas setup for Petrol or Methanol?

    Malpassi. Adjustable is it?

Yeah, I've ditched all the LPG stuff all together and am currently 2 Bosch 044's and a FPR away from running unleaded.

Then it's over to E85 in the future. But that'll be a little way off.

    Adjustable yep.

You spent all that money recently getting the Gas Research Throttle Body fitted, do you think you'll get any benefits from running petrol?

I've recouped the money + more from selling all the bits, so I'm pretty happy with the swap actually.

The benefits from Petrol will be unattainable on LPG. EG, more accurate programability, more predictable behaviour and the ability to run E85 in the future.

Oh, and the fact that the LPG system was giving me the shits beyond recognition. That's something you can't put a figure on.

If your going simple normal petrol way,

get a sard, dont bother with a malpassi, unreliable and fluctuates too much.

CRD (croydon) do it for a decent price. Maybe look through nissan silvia to get their best price.

Don't get a rising rate either unless you plan to use the stock ecu.

I'd also go Sard over malpassi.

Don't bother with the more expensive sard Spec R (or whatever it is), just a generic one will be fine

I'm assuming you're going to be getting an ECU to control it properly?

get a 2nd-hand SARD - is not rising rate and unlike the malpassi does not have fluctuating pressure at low rpms and randomly varying pressures at WoT+Boost.

Anyone want to buy a Malpassi Adjustable Rising Rate FPR? Lol...

I think I'll now be getting a SARD one myself.

So, Sard it is. I've also just heard that from someone else not on the internet, so it must be true... ;-)

Why not rising rate? and how do I get the ECU to control the fuel pressure? I dont' recall seeing a fuel pressure sensor thing in it?

    I've got a Haltech Sprint 500.

So I just tell it what sized injectors I've got and it does the rest?

I've yet to hook it up to the o2 sensor, so I'm not sure wehther it'll need that or not to do the fuel pressure bit.

Does it just turn the pumps on an off as required or something?

rising rate, like malpassi, is useful if you want to turbo your engine without changing your ecu, as you can raise the fuel pressure to a higher rate. This is a very cheap[ and nasty way to doing a turbo conversion, and not even really worth considering on a 1uz.

I asked about the ECU for controlling the injectors, not the fuel pressure

pumps on and off as required
Pumps are always on when the ignition is on... not really sure what you mean.

And o2 sensor has nothing to do with fuel pressure
