Default Lift Pumps - what to use cheaply?

So I have a magna fuel pump, but it's in tank and I suspect it won't go too well out of the tank.

What can i use for a lift pump that's cheap? I don't really want to shell out big bucks for something that's pretty low rent anyway.

What's wrong with using the Magna fuel pump if it works well enough? Should flow plenty if it's just filling the surge tank and not having to fight rail pressure.

Sorry, meant to clarify. I meant using it in tank as is, rather than trying to make it external.

I have a carter black cost about 130 dollars and flows a heap.
Could possibly look at something like a holley blue black or red
Or a facet pump or two

Pretty sure the magnafuel pump wont draw fuel from the tank unless its gravity fed

I am using a Pierburg lift pump. Cost $200 in Mackay retail money, but flows a bucketload and isn't terribly noisy. You should be able to find it cheaper.

Also running a Pierburg high pressure that I got for $70 on flea-bay secondhand and it runs a treat. As for the cheap flea-bay pumps, if they are anything like my cheap flea-bay fuel pressure regulator, I wouldn't waste the money.

it looks like people spend as much money on the lift pump as they do on the high pressure one?

Yikes, that's some serious money for a lift pump.

And here I was thinking I could get away with being a tight arse. :-)

Go Facet if you want a very anoying tick tick and short lifespan , they are a very sub standard pump.
