Default 1jzgte rpm signal question. Eboost2

    Hello.

I am wiring up my eboost2 at the moment and discovered that there is already a wire running from the diagnostic ig- into the cabin. So being a slack bastard I thought I would use this for the eboosts rpm signal. However if I hook that wire up to the eboost it kills the dash tacho which I need to remain functioning.

Just wondering if this is normal and if taking the signal from the ignitor instead will solve this problem?

    Cheers

    p.s. Car is a gz20 with jza70 1j conversion.

Exactly how I'd do it, undoubtedly the easiest way too.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.

Yeah. I was just a little unsure as 50% of the information I read said not to use anything comming from the ecu and only use the ig- at the ignitor. I have another problem now though with trying to power a shift light from the eboost2. I think I'll leave that for turbosmart to explain.

unless you're using the turbosmart lights you can get as an accessory i don't think you'll be able to do it. You may be able to use a relay or similar to trigger it as a larger light may put too much load on the system.

I am trying to use the AUX feature and its signal line to trigger a relay powering a LED. I can't seem to get the relay to trigger though. I have tried a test light from accessory output to earth on the relay and that doesn't work so I am guessing for whatever reason the relay is not triggering.

    White wire to trigger it.

I am using a Narva Normally open 12v 40A 4 pin (with resistor) relay. I'm pretty noob at car electrics I should add so its more than possible I have made a fuck up somewhere. Maybe I used the wrong kind of relay?

    PIN 30 = 5amp fused IGN power
    PIN 85 = Earth
    PIN 86 = White wire
PIN 87 = Line to the LED which is then body ground.

well as long as it's wired up correctly and you've set the trigger points i can't see why it wouldn't work.

yeah i can see your problem the white wire is an earth trigger. you'll need to give 85 power you can do that straight off pin 30

Yeah me either. I have tried various trigger point settings for both boost and rpm just to see if I can get something to happen.

So feed both 30 and 85 with power?

yeah exactly. If you look at the instructions it shows power going from ignition source to the relay.
