    the one picture above, with the yellow rotisery...

    i just looked a bit closer, i dont think thats a replacement tie bar rather just a piece of angle welded to the leading and lower sides of it... is that what it looks like ?

    yup - they've just attached the length of angle to it. effectively double-skinning it.

    don't bolt it - just weld it all together.

    Dont weld on the plates that the tie-rod and roll-bar attach to unless your front roll-bar is a hollow-rod thing with adjustable blades.

    the castor rod anchor plates that house the sway bar mounts will be bolted to the car.. but ill be welding roll cage tube between the anchor plates and the engine x member to turn it into a 1 piece subframe.. this should spread the load around the whole front end of the car and decrease flex significantly
