Thats an interesting way to do it.

And you just use a linkage between the 2 points to connect it up...

Seems like a valid idea, but I am going to have to see if I can find someone with a TIG welder to make it up for me...

Below is a pic of JZZ30 remote into JZA80 that I found on the internet at some stage.

It's not my picture so I can't vouch for it, tho it does look close to what I'd expect (A few cm forward still)

I have a remove shifter jzx90 r154, it looks like this one:

They are not cheap, expect to pay about $1800 but I've seen them $1500-$3000... you would be a goose to pay $3k but $1500 is a little bit unrealistic.

JZZ30 remote into JZA80 works fine and is what I have in my car now. It doesnt sit quite as far back as that picture but it is indeed about 1cm further back than stock. All the stock parts bolted up fine, but the gearboot gets stretched a bit when I put it into first gear.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused with your terminology...

Are you trying to say that is doesn't sit as far FORWARD as the picture I posted? But it is about 1cm further FORWARD than stock?

I guess it depends on what part of the car you call the front? (Sounds like you're calling the front of the car the back?)

Anyway I already said that I thought JZZ30 was the easiest, but I thought it was worth while to point out that I didn't believe it didn't come up exactly in the center...

Argh yes I looked at that last picture the wrong way around. But I do know the difference between front and back thanks my R154 conversion didn't just magically fall from the sky. I hope you're not this patronising in real life or you must not have many friends.

Wow, I hope you're not this thin skinned in the real world or I don't know how you'd cope with a large chunk of society. It's a joke. Breathe. Realise he was trying to get you to correct your facts in a light-hearted way. Move on.

funny stuff... so at the end of the day i think we can all assume tha remote shifter housings on all the W58/ R154 / V160/1 are all the same interchangeable housing ? they look to be

question. with R154 (pull type bellhousing) what clutch and flywheel are ppl using ? 1j or a mix up of 2j parts ? eg 2j 6sp flywheel and pressure plate with a normal toyota splin clutch disc ?

Come on boys, cant we all just get along?!

My mate has managed to find a JZZ30 R154 box, with bell, fly, etc, everything besides the clutch, so he will be getting this when he gets his halfcut.

Its good to see the knowledge come out, as there is so many pictures and details out there, most of them are incorrect.
I saw an W58 labelled as R154 even the other day, and some guy was insisting to me that it was a R154.

Thanks for the help guys, Rep to those I can

sorry yes you are correct.. although they look the same, they appear to be a different bracket..
but over 50% of the parts in these remote shifter housings are all the same.. but the bracket it self is not one of them
