Default Toyota Stout 5R to 18R?

Is this as simple as unbolting one and bolting in the other, using the stock 5R box, flywheel, clutch, etc? What box would the 5R have anyway? Being very early I'm not sure it would be a W40...?

I'm also interested in this question but more pointedly.

Toyota Crown Ute 5R to 18R, 18RG, 22RE etc etc

Is this just as easy as Stout ?

Also when you say Stout do you mean a Full Stout or Stout lite?

    Cheers

Yeah fair enough I'm trying to rack my brain for info i remember having a big discussion about Stout's a while ago.

I'll go hunt through some emails.

Have you already got the Stout or is this a "before i buy" type thing?

    Cheers

does a 5r have part of the bellhousing cast into the motor ? this can cause dramas. i went from 12-18r in an old hilux once and ended up using the coronas gearbox too. dellow make an adaptor ring but it's pricey.
so much stuff. so little time.
