4agze missing under load

hay guys and girls,

i have a 4agze (map) that is in a sprinter.i took the car into work on saturday to give the motor a wash and when i left work it was missfiring under load.

i pulled over to have a look under the bonnet and i pully the centre part out of the rocker covers and it was full of water so i went back to work and blew it out with air.
after this it missed for a bit then it was ok.

the next when i took the car for a drive it was missing under load again but i could not find any water?
has anyone had this problem before?

pull it off and give it a good blow job Lol

They get water in em very easy. blow it out even if it doesnt look wet.

or your leads may have absorbed some water... it happens to old leads due to humidity, so it can sure happen when you give them a bath

maybe it will be better after a long drive to warm them up... or maybe it's telling you new leads are in order...

They dont have a dizzy cap...

Are you getting a check engine light? The knock sensor could be junk. Mine seemed to fail when it got a bit wet. Then the engine would miss when I tried accelerating quickly.

nope all MAP engines were CAS

did you get your coil packs wet at all since they are mounted on the engine?, try pull the leads off them and blowing them out



[edit] this is why when you wash your engine you get it warm and leave it running while you wash it

thanks for all the idears,

it was that my alternator fuse had blowen and it was only running on battery charger but it is all fixed now.
today at the easter nats i run a gen3 350 holden down the strip and bet it buy two car lenths it was so good!!!

i am the only on with a sprinter there out of 789 cars the entered and i can not keep count of how meany V8 wankers i have blowen away now.
i am loving it $170 for the weekend and i only need one day to show the V8 wankers that toyota is not to be farged with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should have been if the battery (only) was powering the ignitor.
I was going to suggest a faulty coil/plug lead/s for the misfire under load.

i have a 175mm crank pully,stock coller frount monted and bosch 044 fule pump that i got off ebay for $175 and it run a 13.6 @98 mile an hour but the best thing of all was the look on the other blokes face as $7,000 bet his $30,000 car ,priceless

yes i do have vidio and pics but they are on vid cam an i will have to get my friend to put them on for me.

and also i dont have the charge light working.
