    Bloody good device.
Pity it's a bit pricey though.

I know of at least one other company (cant remember the name though) making similar CAN based switching units.
They were cheaper too, but not by a lot. Still over $1k from memory.

    Its an awesome system.
    Pitty its so expensive.

Seen 2 of those PDMs in a car... Impressive piece of equipment as the guy got rid of his fuse box in the engine bay as it was taking too much space.
    Can't afford it?... Don't buy/drive it...

Has anyone put one of these (or another brand) in their cars yet?

Seriously considering it with my current build...

Wondering if you can get a similar thing with the Vipec?

AFAIK Vipec dont make PDMs (yet).

Im designing my own at the moment... still along way off from having a working version yet though.
Will have 16 inputs, 12 outputs, fully weather sealed, CAN, USB programming, etc.

    mmm sounds good.

my car is completely stripped for paint, including the chassis loom, and given the fact half the electrical stuff taken out wont be going back in, i think it would be a perfect opportunity to do something like this.

Seriously, tell me one reason why this is anything more than a quick way to blow a giant hole in your wallet.

I mean, its a cool gadget and all, but unless you just want to be showy, why replace $100 worth of fusebox, fuses and relays with 2 grands worth if gimmick that does the same thing?

I can understand that though... building your own to suit your car is cool. I once did a custom PCB in a sealed case with fuse and relay sockets and a sealed delphi header connector like on a motec ecu so you could easily just unplug the whole fuse box while routing the harness through grommet holes etc. Using FETs would make it a lot more compact. Can't really see much point of making it software programmable tho.

It wont be to suit my own car... im designing it with the aim of being made in low-med volumes for sale.
If that will actually happen is another thing though
