Yes, the 2T and 2TG have the same block.

You will need to change the front chain cover to suit the 2TG as well as block off the rear oil hole that is used for the stock single cam in the 2T.

In fact you can also use a 3T GTE head on a 2T block if you make the same changes.

    Cheers,
    Simon

Do not forget, you will neeed the 2TG pistons, with stock 2T pistons, you will bend valves.

    cheers Chuck.

Yep thats true. Really by the time you get all the bits you need you will be better off buying a 2TG and rebuilding it....

If you use a 2T block then you could upgrade to a 3T crank and bigger pistons to get close to 2000cc or 3T crank with 85mm pistons will give 1800cc.

    Cheers,
    Simon

Also, if you are sticking the 2TG head on a *T-C block, either need to leave the stock cam in there or block off the oil holes on the cam bearings in the block and put the dummy cam in.

toyotagarage are well known for being expensive... we don't recommend buying fmo him unless you absolutely have no other choice.

For around the same cost as a 2tg, you can work a 2t/2tb to make the same power. The twincam has more potential so if you plan going all out then by all means go for it, but dont under estimate the potential the single cam engines have.
