Well thanks everyone for coming glad it was suh a great day.
My greatest lol was watchin the VL start to roll away when we pulled over, was oh so slow and just happened in slow motion. Lucky the edge of the road was soft and it dug a wheel in, I think that saved it.
I thought the Wollombi was a good change for lunch, was at a good spot in the trip.
Well see you all on the next one, which i'll post soon

Was an awesome day out, would have liked a few more cars but sometimes it's the smaller cruises which turn out the best
Day started getting up at 6, leaving the house at 7:15 to drive all the way from Newy to Annandale to drop my brother off home, did a splash-n-dash at a servo on the way back to the meet and arrived with minute-perfect timing
Old Pac was relatively uneventful (which is good these days), I think the white Porsche got sick of following us after a while (traffic up ahead meant that we were probably going about 10-20km/h slower than he wanted, which wasn't enough to overtake anywhere) and pulled off into Road Warriors. Back roads up through Peats Ridge were a blast, the motorcyclist lying on the side of the road just after the freeway didn't look crash hot though so hope everything's ok there. Moving roadblock of a Falcon put a damper on to the run into Wollombi, but considering there was next to no other traffic on the road it wasn't too bad, and the roadworks on the bridge meant that we were all bunched up into Wollombi anyway.
Despite Rona's best efforts to ruin lunch by refusing to go tell the bistro that number 19 (or 61 updside down, which was being called for probably 20 minutes straight) had already claimed their lunch, karma struck back in the form of a classic-Rona slip-and-slide down the hill.
Roads after Wollombi up to the Putty were basically more of the same from before, slighly more traffic this time in the form of an X-Trail and an L-plater Starlet which rather disturbingly decided to start sliding over as I was overtaking at about 120. Overtaking then proved to be the word of the day as horse-floats, P-platers in Commodores, fully-laden utes and flatbed trucks proved to be perennial moving roadblocks along the Putty, managed to get some decent blasts though. Comical moments included the Le Mans-style running start at the Halfway Roadhouse, complete with Keystone Cops/Benny Hill bumbling to get out onto the road before the horse-float passed - I almost expected to start hearing Yakety Sax and a bevy of near-naked women to appear from nowhere running around in circles. Plus the only VL in Australia it seems with a non-functioning handbrake deciding it wanted to go for a walk in the forest when we all pulled over to look at the steamship SS Cressida.
In all ended up doing about 6-700km, a full 12 hours from start to finish, yet still only just hitting fuel light from when I filled up yesterday morningEven when hammered the Corolla doesn't get much worse than 8-9L/100km, which is what it gets around town

Yeh thanks 'Raaah23' oil did come in handy it managed to allow me to limp it to colo servo. which from there i bought a tow rope and the VL flat towed me all the way to Liverpool lol. Yeh not a bad set of roads either as i said before. Can't wait for the next one![]()
Argh - yet another year i miss this cruise. STILL haven't made it to one! I was floating around the Broke/Wollombi area sunday lunchtime too; almost talked the missus into heading to the pub for lunch but she was wise to my play. Kept an eye and ear out the whole time and dissappointed i didn't see or hear one toyota turning wheels in anger.
Had a little fun of my own here and there though.![]()
