    Default 4age 16v into ta23 problems

    Hey Guys.
i bought this motor out of a running sprinter & took a spin before we pulled it out & it was one of the nicest engines, had just been tuned & dynod. Put it in my ta23 & it runs very rough. ive done all the work my self including wiring. & i dunno if they have stuffed around with it....

    PROBLEMS:
i had to swap the plug leads so 1 is in 3 & 4 is in 2 on the dizzy to make it run.
It doesnt idle up when its cold & idles arund 200 when its about a 1/4
the oil light comes on when i rev it & flickers on & off every now & then.
    The Charge light is on.

    INFO:
The charge light i run it from the ecu to a fuse & then joined it into the wire from the voltage regulator so it goes to the dash. removed voltage regulator

Basically it has only headers on there atm, but it runs very rough & has poor idling, im putting the exhaust & clutch in today to get it driveable & to see if it helps.

Is there any diagrams someone can give me so i can check the voltage out of the ecu to make sure its ok..

    Thanks heaps

Have you checked the ignition timing?

Nah not yet, about to check that now. Just put in clutch & extractors.
im thinking they might of stuffed around with it before i picked it up.

Also the fuel pump doesnt make a constant humming noise, it hums louder then softer, likes its getting fuel then its not. its getting constant 12v.
Im running fuel from the tank straight to a fuel filter then into the pump, its gravity feed. A mate has exactly the same setup & has never had a problem.
Im thinking that the fuel pump is restricting it??

    Thx heaps

worked out that when i put the dizzy back in i turned the rotor, & it has been running on 2 cylinders. fixing now.

The oil light is because it is coming from a oil pressure sender

ALT LIGHT- when its running its got about 14.14v at the battery

the fuel pump sounds ok now still have to double check

    thanks heaps
