got all the right wires going to the right place? havent mixed up positive and negative somewhere along the line?

just finshed fixing the Headgasket on a 7MGTE now when I attach the battery to the car a little nut looking thing at the back of the alternator starts to hiss and when the car is running was glowing yellow WTF could be doing this? all earths look

ok its happend again....hooked up battery and within seconds there is a hissing noise near the "B" nut on the back of the alternator by "nut" i mean the tiny nut. and its started to glow yellow and get very freaking hot!! wires remined cool though. all I did for the BHG was take off the wiring loom from engien intake manifold and head.............................................. ................................................

I would check the wiring loom that you initially took off when you did your head, might be a good idea to remove them and check it then wire it back up again and try...

disconnect wires from the B nut and make sure none of the wires are earthed.

well I suspect its the alarm wiring causing it will have to check...all wiring I took from engine was put back into its right place ill grab a pic of the alternator back part tis burnt! mind you while this was happening the wiring going to alternator didnt get hot etc
