    Default RA23 Shock Options

Okay ladies and Gents, what are we all using?

Im replacing my coimplete suspension, so far I have

Rewelded Hilux Diff (in other words, heavier than standard)
    xt130 struts with hilux upgrade
1ggte (ie, more weight over front)
New balljoints, tie ends and bushes everywhere I can
28MM Selby sways front and rear
17 inch rolling stock...(or will have 17 inch rollling stock!)

And am not trying to figure out how to spring load it!

This is for a neat steeet car with the regular blast through the hills, so not some crazy track car!

Went down to my local shock-shop and they tried to sell me Pedders narrow bore GSR shockers at 600 for front and rear.

    I figure my options are

-Koni Yellow fronts, GSR rears (around 100 for this set-up
    -KYB Excel G's all round
    -Monroe confort plus (shudders)
    -???? Suggestions??

I havnt decided completely on springs, and am trying to keep it all fairly simple for engineering (considering what else is in the car, im not sure why im bothering )
Leaning towards Lovells 300 lbs on front, 200lbs on rear, but am now concerned this may be too hard for a daily driver.

If we can. maybe this would be a good place for eveyone to list their shocks and whats worked well....

    Thanks n advance

    -Luke

you are defanitely better off with a coilover kit basically cause of the mods you have done to get a good looking ride height and for comfort your better off being able to adjust it all yourself (and a wheel alignment ofcourse)

They shouldnt be that expensive either depending on the kit

Hey Kedders, are your coils street legal?....this is my main detraction from going down this path...im not sure if any engineers will want to touch it

yes they will mines engineered with coilovers but its more than just wack them in and they will sign off on them. you need a full report and drive test so spare about a $1500 for engineer and the rest for the conversion.

i have king lowered in rear bielsteins struts

250lb coilovers in front koni inserts

are you sure you have 28mm swaybars that sound awfuly big?

..thanks mat,...a new set of springs and shocks is looking around the 1000 mark anyway, so ill do some more poking around.

Theyre really old school Selby swaybars...and definately between 25-30mm....always worjked well though
