XT130 struts into ke70, ive lost all my lock :(

hi guys...

im having some small issues with my bloody DX atm...

I've had XT130 struts control arms and the two potters in my car for quite some time, as a stepping stone for when i do my C/P/H conversion and ive noticed a serious reduction in the amount of full lock the car has. PS: major thanks to takai and all other contributors in that thread, what a world of difference its made so far...

now im not a effin drifter (well not in my rare one off DX anyways) but its a complete pain in the arse to get into the garage at home and a bigger pain to park at the shops.

i thought i could just throw in my stocko Ke70 steering arms, except that the bolt spacing for the bottom of the strut is different..

So who can tell me the million dollar question, what model of car do i get my self some nice short steering arms out of to get my lock back? the thread i mention above seem to suggest ke70 ones are the same but they damm well dont fit

you have to find some ra60/ra65/sa63 celica or rt142/st141 corona p/s arms, these will bolt up to your struts and lower arms and you'll get your stock steering angle back.
The only problem is because these are offsett you will lose your neg camber and will have to use single piece sigma lower arms to get your camber back (you'll then end up with around 2deg neg)

gay. its only got like .5 of degree as it is, and i just got new bloody nolathane bushes too grr.

oh well you get that on the big jobs... if its not too far positive i might leave it till i got me some camber tops. for now i just want to park a little easier.

Yo, AE86 Powersteering arms bolt straight in and make the right scrub radius and camber for the chassis.

japlish xt130 have the 85mm steering arm bolt spacing, ra60 ones are 90mm. He needs to get ae86 steering arms whether they be power steer or not (with power steer ones you may need to grind the end of your lca and you may lose a bit of camber)

arent AE86 arms the same size as ke70 ones? which dont seem to fit :S

KE70 ones are 87mm as said by toycrazy.net, which I trust. XT130 is 85mm same as AE86

the corona strut / ae86 steering knuckle into ke70 is pretty common on ae86dc so i would say its the go.

the go is ae86 power steering arms if you want damned fast steering ratio apparently.

Early KE70 are 87mm, later are 85mm same as AE85/86. I'm using later model KE70 steering arms in mine with TT132 struts. The later ones may not be available in OZ, our KE70 wagons ran until 1988. Think the changeover is around 1983.

Yes but they arent the issue anyways sam, the length of the steer arms is the problem, after comparing stock ke70 ones to stock xt130 ones i can see why.

ah I see, after re-reading the original post I see that the steering arms used are the corona ones. So yeah get some stock ae86 arms
