Have you wired the NSW properly. If not it will run exactly how yours is running.

bk_ : it's sluggish the whole way to 4g and doesnt pick up after.

triptek: i've heard thats possible but how? and i didn't do the wiring so that makes it even more fun

at least all the loom/ecu is still hanging in the passenger side footwell.
i have noticed he's used 2 pins on a 4-pin relay for something, maybe thats got something to do with the nsw?

^^ Hmm... I think that's not possible. Whether there is a problem or not, there should be atleast one code. code 55 is the good one.

Er... maybe I'm confusing it with nissan. it's been a long while since I last pulled the codes from a toyota ecu.

My bad, my eyes are painted on. It might have a different name, but that was what this bloke called it. When he had put the engine back together, he had accidently put the cables the wrong way around (throttle cable + kickdown cable). think he said it made the car feel sluggish and unresponsive, but yeah, it was an auto, so not applicable in this situation

EDIT: Ah i see auto ECU, with manual box. Perhaps part of the issue is that

Have you checked your fuel pressure, it sounds like it could be running out of fuel.you need to put a guage in line and see if the pressure is correct at idle and then increases with boost pressure and does not drop as the fuel requirement increases.

    Cheers, Al.

Stolen from an american dodge forum, this is for a bosch relay (the most common i've seen):
    Link to original http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=98071

Connect 85 to a Postive 12V (low amperage is fine, only used to activate the coil.)

Connect 86 to your switched ground input (this is the ground you will use to activate the circuit)

Connect 30 to your INPUT to the relay, or in most cases this will be the 12V that you will be SWITCHING to your load or output... Again, not 100% sure on your application, but I am going to assume this is going to be a high amperage 12V which once activated will be supplied to the fuel pump... Or if you were using ground switching on the fuel pump then this would be where you would connect the ground...

OK, sorry that is confusing, , here, on pin 30 is what you will connect whatever line will eventually be ran across the relay and to your load.

87a often is not connected, but if you were to use it, this would be the output line when the relay is NOT energized.

And lastly, pin87 is your output, which will be active, effectively connecting pin 30 and 87 together when the relay is activated or energized when you complete the 12V and ground circuit on pins 85 and 86...

    relay pin diagram

and Quoting Triptek from his link: Now connect the STA wire in the jzx90 loom to the ign/trigger pin on a relay (can't remember what the exact pin number is). Then hook the ground on the relay to the body. Your best off running a wire from the battery for the power in on the relay. Then connect the power out to the starter motor wire.

So (i haven't done this for a couple years, correct me if i fudge it) battery connects to pin 30, pin 87 would go to the starter motor wire (30input thru a switch in the relay, to 87 out, which will only activate if there is a completed circuit on pins 85 + 86) Pin 85 would be the STA wire off the jzx90 loom, and i spose pin 86 would just be a ground to body? Pin 87A isn't used. Did i get it right triptek?

It's been a while since i've wired up a relay, just wanted to see if i still know what i'm on about...and saving triptek having to write it out
