    Default hilux 'a' series diff?

hi there, i have a jzz30 soarer with the typical open diff. at my work we have a duel cab diesel hilux 2wd that is around an '04 model. i read on the compliance plate that it has an A04A diff and i'm wondering if and of the simular hilux's come with a LSD? maybe v6 ones? just tryin to be a tight-ass and save some cash on a torsen diff. the missus would prob devorce me if i spent a grand so i can ice both the rears at once on HER car. sorry, prob a common question but i did a few searches and only came up with 'G' series answers.

From what I've read _A80 Supra/_Z30 Soarer A series diffs are not interchangeable with Hilux A series. I wouldn't have thought Hiluxes would've had torsens anyways

not worried if its not torsen. if they are like the 'g' series in the 4wd lux i can just shim it up anyway.

it would be a lot of work mate. i paid to have it done with a g series irs to hilux and it cost a fortune.
just be wary too, almost all 2wd hiluxes have open diffs - i dont think ive ever seen one with an lsd....the 4wds have a lsd in the rear and open front....id have to look at my 02 v6 4x4 to tell u if urs is lsd or not....

hiluxs up to 05 are not torsen, they are clutch.
the new shape 4x4 has some sort of torsen/ detroit locker in the rear from memory

all i want is the hemisphere from the center if the is a clutch lsd available? not changing to solid axle.. cant see how that could be expensive compared to $800+ for a torsen centre.

UZZ30 centres have a different PCD of the mounting holes to the Hilux, it will not work
