I've got a 3076 on mine with a .82 Rear defo alot more responsive than the old T-70, around 4k boost now instead of 5k.

As emp? has said, boost at 1 bar and trying to get 250rwkw on a 1G isn't ideally achieveable. Sure it can be done, but how much are you willing to spend? It would be an expensive excersise.

And 250rwkw on a 1G will be pretty laggy no matter which way you look at it.

My advice would be to go for a GT3071R with a 0.48 rear housing, run it at 15psi and be happy with what you have.

I say go to town, if you wanted easy power there is 1000 other options.
But if you want something of a challenge and possessing its own unique qualitys, stick with the 1G. Hey if you were worried bout money you wouldn't be building an engine.

    Little bump here.

I am currently looking to go single on my 1g.
Pretty much it will have a full 3" exhaust, large ARC cooler.
Looking into ecu's at the moment.
I would like to try get around 250rwkw if thats not too much to ask on stock internals, I wont be driving it all the time at that power/boost level, more so just when I wanna have some fun.

Can anyone recommend what turbo I should look into?
Would like to be hitting full boost under 4000rpm.
Also thinking more towards external gated turbo.

Any help and discussion would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Blair.

I run/ran a GT2860RS + 6boost manifold which makes 225rwkw at 18psi on stock internals. This setup makes positive pressure very quickly and is reaching full boost easily by 4krpm.

This is a very responsive turbo for the power it makes. If you were willing to up the boost to 22psi or so you would easily reach your 250rwkw mark.

However, I have set it safelt at 18psi as kyle(6boost) and many others had found over my sort of power figure the 1g's blow bearings due to poor oil flow to the bearings.

Its also for sale, see my thread in the classifieds

    hmm its tempting

Thanks for the info, I guess I would be very happy with 220ish, just 250 sounds cooler lol.

I will keep your stuff in mind, will see how finances are in 2-3 weeks after I start this new job

Oiling problems over 250rwkw? I asked 6boost a while back he said it's only an issue over 500hp or so range, guess not.

Kedderz when do you feel the turbo come on with your setup? like when does it come on boost and begin pulling

anything over 200rwkw on a 1ggte you will bust a rod, sooner or later, most normally number 6.
do a search, its been well covered, it WILL happen on a stock bottom end.

    http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...7&postcount=23

I will jump in here and say that I wouldn't be going for much more than 350-400rwhp through a manual with a very good tune with stock bottom ends, having been through 6 of them, and finally working out their weaknesses and where the limit lies, take my word on not going past this power level without some serious oil system modification and research. They have poor oil flow, and simply destroy big ends due to not having enough oil by the time its fed the mains.

Don't think the first engine you destroy some bearings in it was the tune either, its usually not, the factory pistons will break before that, I made the mistake of destoying another 2 stock bottom ends at the power levels my car makes in about 6 runs on the dyno becuase I thought it was the tune, we stuck a heap of fuel in it and pulled 10 degrees out of it, and still, the same thing happened. Fixed the oiling system, and now 20 pulls on the dyno, a few 9 sec runs on the board, and 3 oil filters being cut open and the engine is spotless with another 12 degrees of timing back in and far less fuel. You've all been warned!!
