    Don'tget me wropng; I had a VS and it was great, if not a bit thirsty on fuel. Awesome on the HWY with 8-9l/100km but around town it was shocking with more like 15-20l/100km. Quite torquey which makes them nice to drive but pretty gutless if you want to give it a bit.
    Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

    Commodore V6's are fine in Commodores, provided your expectations aren't high. I don't see the sense in using them for any sort of conversion though, especially when better engines are available which actually fit in the car much easier?

    Now keeping the VS as our daily driver and will be combining our 2 1975 Crowns to build one.

    Alloytecs (VZ onwards) are DOHC. Anything before that is a Pushy POS.

    Not that Alloytecs aren't POS too...

    All i will say is this,

    Commodores are crap coz they use buick engines and all the american stuff is shit, the only good engine Holden ever had and that was in the VL and that was the only good thing in it coz it was a Nissan motor everything else on the VL's were just like holden shit. the Ve are also crap, but the vs motor as said before by othet people no go thirsty and use all, which is all true...
