    Before you added the HTB grease to the ball joint, did it have any other grease inside?

    nope, it was brand new, out of the packet......

    yep i vote just keep pumping the proper stuff through, it wont take long. you'll probly notice the two greases may be a diff colour??

    I wouldn't see any problem with using Bentonite grease as long as you didn't mix it with anything else.

    It would have had a very small amount of assembly grease in it as a preservative.

    On the subject of grease in ball joints, Since the ball joints have a rubber boot, is HTB Grease Mineral based? as in will it melt away or degrade the rubber?

    As I understand it Mineral oils will degrade rubber.

    it won't damage the rubber. but they do make different types of grease for a reason. oils aint oils.

    molybdenum disulphide reduces friction. a lot.

    Well got a reply from Castrol about their HTB grease, they told me it's not safe to use where it will come in contact with rubber as the oil used is mineral based.
