I just finished up, getting the car onto the trailer was fun, had to remove the STI lip from the bar as it was way too low, it was fucked anyway because it was too low, also have the 20000 litres of fuel phil dropped off in the car as well

dude, that's like 2 million mega-tons of downforce you just lost there by removing the eSsss-Teee-Iiiiiiiiiii lip! Front end grip is gonna be atrocious now

1jayzee on boost sounds like a boeing, and drinks fuel like one too..... I'm sponsored by Caltex

still 28 degrees outside now, maybe we won't get a cool morning run after all.

Well at least it won't be cold in the morning like it usually is for these things

You boyz are gonna cook...and i'm not talking hot laps

Still, any day at the track is better than a day at the office and wishing i had a running ride worth bringing

Yeah it'll be a sweat fest, hopefully we can get some good laps in during the morning before it starts nudging the high 30's.

You're right though, it'll beat being at work

I've got the camera in the car on a new mount so I hope my footage is better now. I have got the camera sitting about 100mm higher so it'll get a better view of the track than it previously was, oh and it's an ew camera too so I'll just have to see how the footage goes anyway.

Now I know how NOT to spend a 38 degree day! In long clothing, a full faced helmet, sitting in a car with no fan (let alone air conditioning) while lapping a hot circuit!

Nah, it was pretty good actually, definitely not a day to set records, but fun anyway. Had to do quite short sessions to avoid cooking all the fluids, and tyres went off quickly also. Happy to improve my lap times to 1:12's as well

Kedderz was on a winner too, you've got to be happy with that WRX you scored, running faultlessly all day, for pretty long sessions considering the heat. Good on you for your first outing to the circuit also mate, see you in the new year at the hillclimbs

Unfortunately, one of the Sydney guys managed to put a leg out of bed on both sides of the block with his SR20, made two very neat holes, and a good video from Shane's incar camera as well with flames, smoke, and shrapnel exiting both sides of the car.

    Cheers
    Phil

Oh, and true to form, I got black flagged on the first lap of the first session, copped a roasting from the marshall cause the cold tyres spun exiting the pit onto the track, which apparently is considered "drifting" (despite tracking dead straight), and had me threatened with a "life-ban"

Yep, you know how much he likes Corollas to begin with.....

Apparently us Corolla boys need to "pull it back a peg, there's no need to run 10/10ths around there".....

Different story if we turned up in a shit-banger HQ "racecar" that can't sit for 30 seconds in the pit lane without boiling, nor pull the skin off a custard, yet still complain about getting held up by all the "street" cars, but still get to do whatever you want without interference from marshals.

Oh, and the driver's breifing was as good as always for an open practice day

    anyways, i'll stop ranting now

Great day, cruiser towed great despite natures best efforts to blow me across the dual carriageway.....
WRX was fantastic, only had factory gauges, but they were never in the red.

Learnt a HELL of alot and realised I have even more to learn now! Also im a chicken shit when it comes to high speed it seems as my speeds into the kink were alot different to say phil's!

And to the rad rolla club, keep on being hardcaw boys dont let the man get you down, live by your own rules and remember life time ban only lasts as long as your alive. Words to live by.

Phil summed it up well, awesome day but fuggen hot.

My laptimer noted it was 40 deg C in the car while out lapping with the window down.

I was stoked the car ran great all day, tyres struggled with the temps though and got greasy after a few hard laps.

They got real greasy on the way home accidentally a few times too

Good to see Kedderz get stuck into it on his first time out, the rexxie just lapped it up all day long.

PS I hope you didn't cop any gravel at that intersection on the way home Kedz, I picked the cleanest part I could
