Ball joint compatability

Ive been arsing around with control arms today and due to mx62 having a larger taper than say an xt130 one, Is it possible to use the xt130/ae86 ball joints in the mx62 arm so that i can use ae86 steering arms? I was looking at going to s13 front but really prefer to keep it in the family

From what I remember, no, you can't put AE86 balljoints into the MX62 arms. A quick measure of their diameter would confirm/deny this though.

One option is to ream the steering arms to suit the MX62 balljoints. May be hard to find an engineering place with the right tooling, but otherwise an easy job.

u can get tapperd drill bits made, ive had some made for balljoint tappers by a guy down the road.
