Dyno sheet from GZE tuning

Finally worked out the transfer of the pic, this is the before/after dyno runs after an hour of tuning on a JayCar fuel/air adjuster. The mods are:

4A-GZE (AFM)
Cusco Extractors
2.5 exhaust
GTi-R cooler
165mm pulley
Fuel Air adjuster

The ECU was an 89 G-Limited model.

Note that this wasn't a shootout dyno, add about 10hp for shootout (I think)

about what PSI is that 165mm pulley running?

ive got:
175mm pulley
mircotech lt10s
large frontmount
bigger injectors and fuel regulator
4-1 extractors and 2.5 inch system
RWD inlet manifold
holden 5.0 LT throttle body

havent put engine back in car yet....im quite interested by other peoples figures and im wondering what mine will make....???

its in an AE86, by the way

Did you add the extractors at the same time as the exhaust? Do you know if it helps much? I read that the AGZE factory ones where fairly decent.. what do you think?

I scored: These came with my car from J The factory headers can't be too bad, but I imagine they're reaching their limits when you start pushing extra power thru them. The 165mm pulley is making a regular 10psi, personally I think this is all you should push thru an SC12, or you're just pushing heat. SC14 coming soooon....

microtech ltx8

headwork and modded inlet manifold
big frontmount
standard exhaust manifold
and on 10/12 psi i cracked 160hp
but i can only find this dyno but it will do.

is that on a aw11 or ae92/101 bottom end?

My dead stock Aw11 GZE turned 80kw at the treads if anyones interested (well, its got some crap rusted out HKS cat back exhaust thing but u dont count that as a mod )

AW11. It made 129 on a shootout dyno before the cooler/tuning/pulley, so I imagine it's now making 140 or so shootout HP. Next on my goodies list is aftermarket managment and an SC14...

Interesting difference here. My MAP AE92 engine (8.9:1CR, smaller SC pulley) made 147hp at the treads on a 164 mm HKS pulley. Thats around 12psi or so. Through a 600x300x75 cooler and bigport 240* cams.

There is no blanket rule to how much to add for a Shootout mode. That jump in the AFR's could be the source of some of the problems you're having in regards to smoothness.

Yeah, absolutely, that was just a rough guess to compare to a shootout. Next time Hyperdrive have a dyno day I'll take it down. Mainly I wanted to show the difference a little bit of fuel tuning could make.... A programmable ECU is the way to go, for sure. Just out of curiosity, will a low-end ECU such as a microtech give worse economy in standard driving than the factory maps? If anyone knows...

depending on how the tuner sets it up. if your cruise maps are set right, you should return similiar economy to standard, and sometimes better / worse depending on what AFR's the tuner has set it to. Microtechs perform well and will make the power where it should, but due to fairly coarse resolution, overall economy can be less than that of say a Haltech or Autronic.... But like you said, "for a lower end ecu" they are good value for money.

My stock Mr2 was running 10:1 AFRs almost across the board on the dyno so its not gonna be hard to improve on the stock economy

Ill have a better idea of what AFRs it runs at when i get the wideband controller installed i just finished building

AE92s are 8.9:1 apart from a very miniscule few which were dizzy driven 8.1:1s. Might want to confirm that.

Minor detail, but they were dli not dizzy and of course had afm. Ive seen a few (92 afm's) around the place.
