If you or someone could get some pics that would be awesome.

They don't really poke out much.... not as far as the handles would anyway... They come with little round plastic covers that you can clip onto your trim and cover up the hole... paint them what colour you like... Since I am redoing my interior before the RA23 is on the road, I'll make up some custom trims that hide it all nicely.Originally Posted by LeeRoy

Hi,
A bit of trivia that may help.. While never having completely fitted the aftermarket kits, I trial fitted one to a KE38 corolla window.
While the window did move up and down it was nowhere near what one would consider "factory like" in motion and effort. The window channels had new weatherstripping that probably caused more sliding resistance.
The factory manual window mechanism works in such a way that the winder can move the window but the window should not move the winder. Just under the winder handle, below the spline, there is a can-shaped clutch mechanism (rivetted to the main body).
The clutch, when operating correctly, allows the winder to turn the assembly, while stopping the arm from turning the winder. The can contains a tightly fitting spring who's diameter is decreased ever so slightly by the movement of the winder, whereas movement originating on the arm will tend to increase the spring's diameter and lock the spring into the can, blocking rotation.
This clutch poses a significant mechanical drag to anything turning the winder.
The aftermarket kit usually has a high reduction worm drive at some point in the assembly, negating the need for the OEM clutch - as the worm drive can only be driven from the motor side, and not from the arm side.
Keeping all this in mind, the clutch in the winder mechanism of the KE38 was removed and the aftermarket kit trialed. The outcome was a much improved window travel due to the reduced rotating drag. The window motion resembled the near effortless factory operation. A factory power window assembly does not have this clutch but relies on the worm drive.
You may wish to consider removing this factory clutch as the window operation will be a lot smoother and faster.
Joel - it is possible to make any number of windows move together but there are some factors to keep in mind. The more windows moving together the more current will be drawn from the same supply, potentially reducing the speed of motion, especially when the engine is not running.
If one window travels its distance in a shorter time than another, while the slower window is still moving, you will continue to supply current to the faster window after it reaches end of travel. (But it would look cool).

What have you guys done with your switches? mounted them on the door card? or centre console somewhere? +rep for any pics!
I've done nothing as of yet but its a job i might look at in the holidays as well as a painless wiring full rewire - following some more research. I was thinking of getting some switches from a wrecker and mounting all 4 on the center console with the back 2 on the back of the console. Mind you i have an aftermarket console so ill be in a different boat.

Yeah I was going to get some nicer switches and mount all four on the centre console. Wasn't even really going to worry about giving the passengers in the rear switches. Rarely do I have more than two people in my car, and it saves the hassel of trying to find somewhere nice and out of the way to mount them.
just so ppl know i am going to try to out bid any one who tries to get that pair of ta22 elec window mechanisms. i want em grrrr. but my limit is set at $150
laterdays
edit, i just bought the 4 door kit so my previous ta22 2 door kit is no longer needed, if i do win the ta22 kit does anyone want to buy it off me??

The genuine switches are mounted in the door card. I can take pics, but I assume you have all seen the genuine TA22 GT switches?Originally Posted by ace
The drivers door has 4 switch panel whilst the passenger and rear has single switches for that window only.

As the TA22 GT is somewhat of a rarity in Aus, i dont think many people have actually seen the GT PW switches simon... better post a pic or 2, always good for the rep status.

Guys,
Here's a pic of the main power window switch on my TA22 GT.
I'll be adding some new pics to my site as soon as I get a chance.
