    Default Hybrid Electronic Boost Controller problem.. not boosting past 4psi?

    Just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem or perhaps dealt with it themselves.

    I purchased a brand new Hybrid EBC with MAP sensor which is all running off an MTX-8. Installed it as per instructions, gone over wiring and made sure its all 100% but no matter which setting I put it on, it just maxes out at 4/5psi and the settings dont seem to make any difference. The ECU was previously tuned to 13psi max inwhere it was working with a bleed-valve.

    Wiring is as per instructions (IGN and GND off ECU) MAP sensor is T-d off the hose that runs into ECU. Hosing to and from Solenoid is fine.. solenoid has power (although this area was kinda grey to me as there are 2wires that run to it but are both the same colour so im asuming it doesnt matter which way they run although i have tried swapping them to no effect)

    Any ideas?

    How many fittings on the controller?? 2 ??
    The is a right and a wrong way to hook it up.


    The solenoid should have a restrictor ( small on one of the fittings) this needs to go to manifold or comp housing?????????

    If you know about this and it is hooked up correct you may need to make the restrictor hole bigger so that it can bleed off more air and hence raise boost.

    the solenoid is a 2 fitting type with a 3rd hole that isnt connected. one runs to wastegate other to intake of comp.. yes theyre going in the right direction

    solenoid should have a restricter> your saying one valve is smaller than the other? I just checked and you are right one appears to be 1mm smaller with ID but I just switched them around and no difference.

    i also just checked the solenoid with 12v and it is working...

    WTF?

    Make sure the smaller hole goes to the manifold or comp housing and the larger one to the wastegate.
    Can you hear the solenoid pulsing?? they are quite loud so you should be able to hear it working.

    You say the MTX8 is running the controller. How are you mapping the boost??

    I cant actually hear it, but the 2wires that run to it are fine so I guess this means its a dud controller?

    Sorry I meant in a general sense an MTX8 is running the car not the ebc. I bought the version that came with a map sensor (since mtx8s have internal sensors) so you have to T off a line to the hybrid map sensor from the hose that runs into the ecu and the controller plugs into the sensor, and then from that to the ecu wiring for power/gnd.

    Just out of interest, when you look inside these solenoids how far are they suppose to move, when I hooked it up to 12v just to check if its working, it looked asif it was shifting 1mm.

    And the 3rd unused valve hole on the solenoid should be open right? I mean thats where it should bleed out...
