dont forget team rising sun and team sthn cross racing
there is a $10 dorian fee that has to be paid to me
there was a part payment included in the enitial entry fee
as you may recall we didn't know the dorian cost's at the time
there has been a slight change
richard who was going to run his historic GP Nb EH hasn't got it back together in time
so now he is going to join the strength and run a 4age front wheel drive corrolla

Good weekend of club racing and catching up with people!

Thanks to Jezz's much better half Lucinda, for spending almost the entire 6 hours on the wall doing timing and boards for Team Rising Sun, I really hope the sunburn and heat stroke was as much fun as you were claiming.

Also thanks to Slim's mate Ben for stepping into the breach when we needed a volunteer.. much appreciation... and Oscar for being "volunteered" and doing it with a smile on his face.

Thanks to everyone in Team Rising Sun for making things run so smoothly.

Top marks to Jezza for punching out so many consistent laps that were damned fast....shame to see the mighty Capella of Ray expire early.. Graham's old girl powered on all weekend and still appeared to drive home with no dramas... Rossco and his RA40 were cool and fuss free all weekend - how you slept in under the tonneau in the sun is beyond me but it was a good laugh!

Lastly thanks to Ian, who year in year out puts his heart and soul into seeing us all have a great time and is the reason so many of us started having a crack at this 6 hour thing in the first place. I know you threaten every year that you are going to retire, but I think that would be a crying shame! Your lap times and consistency are brilliant... I reckon you are our version of that old bloke you were sitting next to at the presentation - Bob Holden! Don't go changing....

As for results, well we performed pretty much as a team with no team meetings, no lap board at the beginning of the weekend and no real strategy would be expected to perform.. 33rd out of the 41 teams.... and all goals achieved - have fun - tick... beat Team Celica - tick

I reckon the Team Celica guys did an exceptional job in trying circumstances... to finish the event with half the expected cars is damned impressive... and special mention to Andrew.. I always look at the TA22 and think man is it going to make it... and this year he flogged it to near death and kept on keeping on while being quick. Top job!!

oh yeah one last last thank you.. thanks to Trang for the catering.. one less stress for me is much appreciated!

Well, it was a pretty good weekend for us, the rain was a bit of a pain on Saturday, one of our cars, the ex-Auscar VL broke down Saturday we finally got the driver, Grant into a borrowed car (a race prepped Daewoo) and out at the 11th hour to get him qualified which was good.

We started Sunday full of confidence; My son Steven in our XE started the event and put down some really good times to give us a good start.

Our other 2 drivers, Ray (in the Cobra) and Turrps (in an ex-Auscar XF) also put in some good consistent times, although Turps did spring a small oil leak at the rear of the valley which caused a bit of a smoke issue, the organisers didn't notice it, but our guys did try to fix it, but it was a bit smokey at the end of the day.

Grant (in the Daewoo) was probably our most consistent driver for the day, the old Daewoo just kept plodding along doing lap after lap pretty much on the money.

I took the XE and it blew a power steering hose which threw a bit smoke every where, we managed to fix, but it blew again in me later on a caused a bit of a fire, but no damage to the XE thankfully.

The Team volunteers really stepped up to the plate, one of the blokes who promised he would be there didn't show up so we were one person down and Leigh (an event novice) stepped up to do the timing for us and was also on the money all day.

Mike (from Benalla) got railroaded into volunteering for AROCA for 4 hours instead of the 1 he was supposed to do, which also left us a bit short.

Mick (from Bendigo) was also a novice for this event, he helped with the mechanical stuff adn helped Leigh with timing.

Both Mike and Mick did an absolute fantastic job

Also a big thanks to Big Daddy from Tampered Motorsport for lending Grant the car.

We managed a respectable 13th, a little disappointing, but with a couple of breakdowns from me in the XE which required flat tows, and the Daewoo died on Grant near the end of the day which all didn't help. But the good news was we only broke our nominated times twice for the days - well done everyone.

Again a great event and we can't wait for the next one.
