.......weren't we all supposed to be ready 2 months ago and now just be polishing chrome and checking tyres pressures?? ...shit I can't talk.

I assume if I leave Melbourne around lunch time, and get to Winton around 3pm, I should head to the track to catch people preparing/practising?

Gene, you're flying in I take it?

I live near the airport and could meet you so that you have a car or 3 to follow.

If you're arriving earlier and staying in the city Thurs night, the road you would take heading to Winton on Fri goes right past my place, so still easy to find a spot to meet.

I will be leaving closer to 1:30 though.

Anyone else, want to meet at the Shell at Kalkallo (Donnybrook Rd) at 2pm?

Oooops, forgot to say Saturday in my post

I'll be right, I'm flying in Friday lunchtime and doing things in Melbourne until lunch time Saturday, and then heading up. So, I meant 3pm ish Saturday should be about when I'll get to Winton by my estimation.

Depending on what happens Sunday, I may stay up there Sunday night as well. If not, I'll head back to Melbourne and find some accomodation to check out the "big smoke" some more

Fly out Monday night after catching up with Dad for lunch.

Thanks for the checklist Ian. I was wondering about the fire extinguisher as I got knocked back on having a 2005 at PI but this says 5 year expiry so all good......may just get to Bunnings and get another anyway really........as for seatbelt......it says within age limit but if I have a Willans harness from 1998 are they gonna knock that back over a factory lap sash from 19 dicketty 3???

we had a few anxious moments with the club car
after the dyno guy reset the computer it didnt run , shamo bolted on a set of dellortos to get it going for the six hour
the car was only running on two cylinders when it got here
luckily ray and oscar called in to say hello
ray soon discovered that the plug leads were in the wrong order on the diizzy cap
apart from it idling to fast it seems ok
then on top of that shamo's ute shit itself , now he has to find another way to get the club car to winton
i just have to paint the repairs and its almost ready ,then i have to finish mine ,faaaaaaark
once again winton 6 hr has come a week to early

    Not the ute-erus!
I think i'm ready to go but dont think ill be able to leave early on friday, being such the efficient worker and face of the company () that i am, the boss has hinted that he would like me to stay most of the day. So i'll probably head off to winton around 5 and park the car in the caravan park :\
Anyone have any hook ups as to where i can get trd oil filters? Apparently there are none left in australia.

Also just want to double check, my radiator overflow and catch can are not sealed i.e don't have a lid on them, is this going to be a drama with scrutineering?

Graham they will give you a hard time about your harness I reckon... silly as that is.

Race tape over the catch cans Joey... you want to give them as little to pick on as possible!

Anyone thinking of taking the West Gate may want to consider taking the Bolte Bridge instead and citylink to get to the Hume. It’s packed as one lane is closed with road works.

Does anyone remember who collects the sponsor stickers????????
