yeah, it's always been a bit rattly on starts until it builds up oil pressure... but I think that's just 18R's![]()
yea still running the 18r timbonow cammed, with more compression and re-jetted webber (again - will probably need doing again now its warming up,
)
im trying my best to kill it with no success, its got a wicked timing chain rattle when started hot, and the missing oil breather shield otherwise, hasn't missed a beat!

Any posts from this point on about anything other than the 6 hour (or racing related) will be getting an infraction, and I will be getting this thread completely cleaned.
This is fucking bullshit!
What was done was done. It was extremley offensive, as I had said before Trev had even realised what the post was alluding to, and I am disgusted that the comment was made, but for fucks sake MOVE ON!
So back to those timing boards.......any and all suggestions are welcomed. - I loved the blimp idea!!
Last year we used a blackboard- towards the end of the weekend the board became harder and harder to clean - I dont know if visibility became an issue for drivers??
Do we simply use 2 blackboards this year - 1 for each day? Or something new altogether?
I guess to make that decision we need to discuss how drivers would like timing information communicated to them......Same as last year? (their time)
What have other drivers experienced and found has worked well?
(I'm very busy with Uni - Graduation, final assignments, job applications etc right up to the winton weekend, so early organisation is my priority - unless someone wants to volunteer for this job.....)
Just a reminder, if you are still interested in the 6-hour BBQ that money needs to be cleared in my account no later than the 30th of this month. I recommend that you transfer it at least three days before the end of this month. This will save me the problem I had last year of people transferring me money on the Friday and me not receiving the weekdays after the 6-hour. If there are any dietary requirements, allergies and such please let me know.

how dare you let your education and social life interfere with motor sport
get your (our) priorities right girl![]()
What about a simple +1, or -2, etc, for 1 second faster than your nom time, or 2 seconds slower than your nome time, etc. It would be much larger, therefore more readable, than 1:49.10 (for eg).
Also, what about a mini whiteboard for the lap board? They're cheaper than mini blackboards (free in fact as I already have one), and the marker is easily removed of any trace making it good for both days. It would be easily readable with Black marker and numbers as above.
Also laps remaining until driver/car change. Like below, minus the Position number... (And minus the word LAP itself, as it's not required.)

28 that sounds great!
Can we use magnet numbers and symbols on this whiteboard of yours?
The +1 or -2 sec idea is one I’ve heard a lot of so let’s go with that!
It just means that the timing girls (Emma and Lauren) will have to be on the ball with individual nominated lap times.
It's not magnetic, but I could get a piece of sheetmetal around the same size which would be magnetic, and coat it so that it would be marker writeable/erasable, if the magnetic would be a big help.
I don't think the individual nom lap times will cause any havoc, you would only have to refer to the individual nom lap time after each driver runs their first lap, after that it would be in their heads until the next driver comes out.
ok
things have cooled down, and maturity prevailed,
lets concentrate on the task at hand and get this running smoothly
nostalgia is not what it used to be:
i have a couple of white boards that we may be able to convert
dont forget there is a limit to the dimensions that we can use , i cant remember what they are
no more than 900 square i think
