I know it was the ideal but from reading the Fun Day thread it sounds like the track was jam packed so any quality driving may not have happened. Well go to the Test and Tune days, it’s a little more expensive but it ensures serious drivers take the track and each car is issued with a Dorian timer - so timing is accurate.

...i reckon as Ed has mentioned previously, that the track day was a great intro for the 6hr......plenty of usage of mirrors and being aware of your lines and everyone elses ...but like you say getting timed laps in would be a beneficial exercise as well.........i'm itchin to get the car out for some more track time.

Anytime on the track is useful leading up to the 6 hour.... there is only 1 driver in Team Celica who is unfamiliar with the track the other 5 drivers have had extensive practice...with their 'old' engines so Team Celica drivers need to discover the potential lap times and limitations of their new engines.

One thing we have to be aware of is continual improvement of lap times, which could be a real risk for team Celica....as the drivers get to know the limits of their engines and push a little harder they might end up going too fast and receive lap penalties.

Anyway I’ve just thought of it now and I’m probably takin nonsense!

Tampered Motorsport run Tracks Days from time to time, they are great, $150 for the driver, you can take a passenger for every session for $10 each.

The event is timed, generally the drivers are all experienced and it is 100% driving, not 80% and normalyy only about 80 cars all up for the day, about 10-12 out on the track at one time.

Unfortunately it normally isn't advertised on Winton webpage, Tampered emails former entrants and he does post on some forums, I will keep my eye out if you want.

......damn.......shame to see Shannon out.........that said I reckon that '22 of his was out on track almost every session last weekend.....both passenger and drivers only!........probably ended up doing 300k's of laps or something ........hope a replacement isn't too hard to come by.

HSCCV and FFCC are having a Sprint up at Winton on 25th July if any one needs to get up there and give their car a shake down run.

i recieved a bit of bad news tonight
matty has to pull out of the six hour
his best friend is getting married and matty is his best man
he had hoped to run the godzilla gtr with a 3,5 ltr bottom end , it would have been good to see
so that leaves a spot open if anyone wants to have a run
