auto loom- manual ECU??

hey all probably silly question but i know sweet FA about wiring..

just wondering if i can run an auto JZX90 loom and some sort of manual ECU in my MX83?
any help greatly appreciated

id like to know the same thing? also do i need the manual ecu if i convert to manual or can i just use the auto one?

auto will work fine just need to connect two wires to trick the ecu into thinking its in park or nuetral so it will start.

yeah you have to bridge out the inhibitor switch for it to work.

I just used an auto loom / manual ecu for a conversion with a 5sfe engine. Aside from the neutral start switch I also discovered to my dismay that the pin locations for about 20 of the wires were different between auto and manual ecus even though the connector physically fits in fine (no idea why). Be wary of this and be prepared to rewire the big connectors at the end of the loom. Its not a difficult job, just a bit fiddly in places.
