i tee'd mine into the 2 heater lines that head down to through the center of the chassis (aw11). the heater lines are a feed and return.
Folks,
Just need to make a couple of water feeds and returns (for a turbo and oil cooler), and hoped to get some advice on where they should go. Having a think myself, it seems like:
Feeds - from the pressure side somewhere, between water pump and thermostat.
Returns - the opposite. After thermostat and before the waterpump, preferably before the radiator to help cooling.
Right/Wrong? Any other factors to consider? Location not worth worrying about?
Thanks
Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

Have a look at how the factory 7M, 1G, JZ motors do it.
Use the online TSRM for the 7M, or toyodiy.com for all of them.
From memory the 7M comes out just behind the thermostat.

I'm glad this thread is here, i am doing a single conversion on my 1jz and am slightly confused about the turbo coolant points:
am i mistaken, or should one be on the other side of the thrmostat?
Im in the process of the same conversion though 2j. I dont have a water cooled turbo and i dont beleive i have those bottom water lines so i am going to join the two top hoses together. Is that the right thing to do ?
yeah i just made sure I had one water line on each side of the thermostat.
worked a treat.
you could use the water plug/jacket drain as the feed.
most folks normally return the water into one of the heater hoses for simplicity...
