Default 80 series 1FZ-FE power steering gear nut torque specs

    Hi all

My tow vehicle (80 series with a 1FZ-FE) had a power steering leak coming from the pump. I pulled it off and got it rebuilt. When I picked it up the drive gear and nut were cable tied to the pump body. Apparently they won't take responsability for fitting this and it is left up to the customer to fit it. The gear gets its drive from the engine internals so I don't want it coming off at any stage.

Can anyone tell me the torque specs for this nut or do I just make it tight with the rattle gun and use Loctite.

    Thanks in advance

Put it in a vice with soft jaws and put some loctite on it and the give it heaps.
Not sure of the exact torque but i do them about as tight as you would do a brake caliper bolt.

Thanks for the advice. That is what i will do. I was worried about just using a rattle gun.

    Cheers
